  1. Off-Scale Salary Adjustment Actions (no change in step)

The CALL, Appendix 17, covers the campus policy on off-scale salaries. Further information can be found in the APM 620.  An off-scale salary adjustment may be proposed for a faculty member instead of a merit or promotion.  For example, an off-scale salary adjustment may be proposed for a faculty member’s retention.

Use the Off-Scale Salary Adjustment cover page from the L&S Website.  Attach an updated CV, history record and the departmental recommendation justifying the reason for the off-scale salary increase.  Include a vote page, if applicable. All proposed off-scale salaries must be in multiples of $100.  Deans have approval authority for off-scale salaries up to and including the next step. Salaries higher than that require the Vice Chancellor’s approval.

If a Return to Salary Schedule (RTSS) is included with the approval, the department should follow it for the next action.  See Return to Salary Scale Computation.
