    3. Routing and Approval
The L&S Personnel Office staff will review the case and then forward it to the appropriate Dean for consideration. The Dean will write a recommendation on the case and then it will be forwarded to APO. APO will send it to CAP. CAP will normally request a campus-wide review committee be convened to examine a merit case to initial Above Scale. When this committee has submitted its report, the Dean is given an opportunity to comment on it before CAP considers the case for a final time. CAP will then make a recommendation to the Vice Chancellor who then decides the final outcome of the case. The Vice Chancellor's decision will be passed on to the College, which will notify the department.
