Unfortunately UCLA Extension students are not eligible to use the service.

Who are the tutors?  UCLA students chosen for their communication skills as well as their academic excellence. All tutors have excelled in the classes for which they tutor, and have been extensively trained in peer tutoring.

How can I meet with a tutor?  Tutors meet with students in weekly small group sessions, each week, all quarter. Students must request tutoring at the Lab in person, during the first week of the quarter.  Sign-up times are announced on the first day of classes.  Early sign-ups are strongly recommended.  Students may also come to drop-in tutoring, M - Th, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

What happens in a tutoring session?  In the informal setting of weekly small-group sessions, students can ask questions, test their mastery of concepts, strengthen their problem solving skills, and improve their learning and test-taking strategies.

Do you have drop-in tutoring?  We have limited drop-in tutoring Monday through Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m.  Different subjects are tutored on different evenings.

What can I do if it’s too late to sign up for a tutoring group? Our drop-in tutoring can assist with particular problems.  Look at other tutorial services at UCLA.  In addition, many departments keep lists of private tutors.
