Drop-in assistance in composition is offered Monday through Thursday,7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in 228 Covel Commons, located in Sunset Village just north of Sproul Hall.  Students will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is no guarantee that everyone will be able to see a tutor.  Drop-in composition tutoring is not a substitute for a regular composition tutoring appointment because the drop-in tutor can only spend a short amount of time with eachstudent. 

ESL Assistance 

ESL conversation and pronunciation tutoring is not offered on a drop-in basis.  However, ESL writers may come to drop-in composition tutoring, which is offered Monday through Thursday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., in 228 Covel Commons.  Please be aware that the drop-in tutor can see each student only for a short time; therefore, drop-in tutoring is not suited for students with major ESL difficulties in writing.  Drop-in tutors are most helpful for those ESL students who bring a few specific questions rather than entire papers.  We strongly suggest setting up an appointment with a compositiontutor or ESL tutor to address ESL writing concerns. 

Math/Sciences Tutoring 

Drop-in math/science tutoring is offered on a variable schedule, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in room 230 Sunset Commons, located in Sunset Village just north of Sproul Hall.  Tutoring for mathematics, life science, physics, chemistry, and organic chemistry are offered on different nights each quarter.  Please check the schedule inside 230 Covel Commons, or call 206-1491, to find out when a particular subject will be tutored.  You do not have to be enrolled in regular, weekly math/science tutoring to go to drop-in tutoring.
