• Begin proposal for independent studies project

• poster presentation at AAP scholar's Days

Summer

• continue work on research via SRP contract

• complete the 6-week UCLA McNair Summer Research Institute

• Complete proposal for independent studies project

• receive McNair summer Research Stipend $2,800

• GRE Preparation

• Presentation at UCLA symposium

Second Year

Fall:

• Enroll in and complete the first Independent Studies course (199A or 199 HA)

• Receive undergraduate Research scholarship stipend $1,666.66

• Complete applications for graduate school

• attend mandatory McNair Meetings

• Apply for travel award to present research at an academic meeting

Winter

• enroll in and complete the second Independent Studies course (199B or 199HB)

• Receive undergraduate research scholars stipend $1666.66

• Attend mandatory McNair senior thesis class

• Attend mandatory McNair meetings

Spring:

• Receive undergraduate Research Fellowship Stipend $1,666.66

• If Honors Student, File Honors Thesis

• Attend mandatory McNair Meetings
