Your Phi Beta Kappa Initiation 2011 Ceremony Guide:

If you have been nominated to join Phi Beta Kappa, please follow the steps below:

1. Log on to your MyUCLA account and click on the "Commencement" link. Only selected students will have a Phi Beta Kappa "Membership" option available.


2. Click on the "Membership" link to Order your Phi Beta Kappa Membership (billed to your BAR account), student ticket, and maximum 3 guest tickets through MyUCLA ("Commencement" link) by Wednesday, June 1, 2011.


3. Ticket orders must be placed by Friday, June 3rd. Please note: there are no physical tickets being printed for the ceremony; however, students are still required to place ticket orders for attendance tracking purposes.


4. Attend the Initiation Ceremony on Thursday, June 9th, at 5:00 pm (students need to be there by the latest 4:30 pm)
• Student check-in will be conducted in Dodd Hall 147 starting at 4:00 pm.
• Check in early to avoid lines. We will be giving you your new membership packet along with your certificate during check-in.
• You will be asked to present your student ID at check-in.

If you will not be attending the Initiation Ceremony:

1. Be sure to order your Phi Beta Kappa Membership and Mailing Fee (billed to your BAR account) through MyUCLA ("commencement" link) by Wednesday, June 1st.


2. If you would like to pick-up your new membership packet, they will be available beginning Monday, June 13th, 2011 in the Honors Programs office, A-311 Murphy Hall.
• We keep your packets in the Honors Programs office for at least a year but please try to pick it up in a timely manner.


3. If you change your mind and want to attend the Initiation Ceremony:
• Contact PBK Coordinator Beverly Yanuaria at (310)-206-9667, pbk@college.ucla.edu, or at the Honors Programs office after June 1st for questions.
