Department Graduations
In addition to the main College Commencement ceremony on June 13 at 5 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion, more than 30 separate graduations hosted by academic departments are scheduled on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 at locations across the UCLA campus.
At these events, each student is recognized individually by the department chair and the faculty.
You must confirm your attendance with your academic department, and guests must have tickets for these events.
If you are not sure of your eligibility to participate in the 2008 College Commencement and departmental graduation, please see questions 1 and 2 in the FAQ Section.
Department Graduations: Schedule
The schedule and locations of the departmental graduations are posted on the main UCLA Commencement website.
Students: Confirm Your Attendance
You do not need a ticket for your own departmental graduation. However, to participate in your department ceremony, you must RSVP through the on-line MyUCLA system between April 29 - May 14 so your eligibility can be confirmed by the departmental student advisor.
Students who miss the May 14 deadline will need to contact the departmental student advisor to RSVP.
Guest Tickets
Guest tickets for departmental graduations should be ordered on MyUCLA between April 29 - May 14. Until May 14, you may modify or cancel your guest ticket orders. After May 14, all ticket orders are final and your BAR account will be charged accordingly. Failure to pick up your tickets does not constitute a cancellation of your order, and you will still be charged for your commencement tickets.
The number of guest tickets available for order for your department graduation ceremony varies by department: the first four tickets are free.
After the first four tickets, a charge may be incurred. The fee helps pay the cost of the ceremony, and varies depending on the department, up to a maximum of $8 per ticket. For more information, see the Tickets page.
Students who miss the May 14 deadline will need to contact their department to inquire about guest ticket availability.
